DONGLE Information
As of April 2008 we have changed the registrion procedure for the software. In the past we would supply a floppy disk which you would use to register or brand your ownership information into the software programs. However, since floppy disks are becomming increasingly hard to find, we have decided to convert the registration process to a dongle. HOWEVER: The prices of the suite have been adjusted to include the additional cost of the dongle. So for each suite purchased you will get the dongle with it.
The individual software prices have not been adjusted in any fashion, and if
you purchase individual programs, you will need to purchase at least one
dongle per user, in order to properly register the software. If you fail to
purchase the dongle at the time of placing the order, your individual software
will probably be shipped with the older floppy disk registration procedure.
If at a later time you decide you need the dongle, you will not only be charged
the $25.00 for the dongle, but may also have to incur any expdite shipping
charges you request. Most people will want it shipped right away,
and that means somewhere around a $15.00 overnite charge.
So do it right the first time.
If you have questions about whether you need to purchase the dongle with the
intial order, call first. We are most happy to discuss your needs and the
uses of the software.
The dongle will be used to accomplish two tasks. First, the owner of the software will initialize the dongle with his/her ownership information. This information will consist of two lines of text. Usually the owners name or company, and the 2nd line usually a city or division. This information brands the dongle, and cannot be changed, and it is used to later brand all the software which is purchased from Mares and Company. Next, for each software package that is purchased, the dongle will allow the owner to initialize the software with the ownership information. Not until the software is initialized will it become fully functional. Once the software is branded, it can be run from any location which the person licensed it for, and the dongle is no longer needed. (in the future, a very restrictive few software programs will require the dongle be present when being run. currently this does not exist). If you purchase the suite, all the programs are included on the dongle. HOWEVER: if you purchase only a limited number of programs the dongle will be setup so that only those programs can be initialized. Once you purchase a dongle for a limited number of programs, you may not have to purchase another if you later decide to purchase additional software. (in order to eliminate additional costs, every effort is being made to be able to upgrade the dongles you may have previously purchased. You will be sent an upgrade program which will upgrade the dongle to include the additionally purchased software. But no promises are made until the process of adding software to existing dongles is perfected). As of April 2008 the costs of the dongle is $25.00. This may decline or increase as dongle prices themsleves change. If you order any of the software, and forget to include the dongle purchase, it will generally be added for you. (Unless you already own one and have indicated you DO NOT need a new one). Top
Declasfy Pricing
Declasfy is designed to be used either on separate computers or for wiping individual disks. Therefore, it is priced differently from the other individual Maresware programs. The initial purchase of the license floppy disk (price: $95.00) comes with 15 uses of the program which allows wiping of 15 hard drives. After these initial 15 licensed uses, you must purchase additional licenses. Site licenses are also available. The (2008) dongle pricing is yet to be developed for the declasfy program. So at this time, Declasfy can ONLY be run from a floppy disk, and IS NOT part of the new dongle process. If you require a program that runs under a WINDOWS/NT OS, use NTIMAGE. Hash Set CD

$45.00) or by yearly subscription(price: $150.00 Also prorated
subscriptions for partial years). Note: It is included, at no

The Suite. Because of the advantages of using the updated records, we offer Hash Set CD as a calendar year subscription. The zipped file is mailed on a CD when you order and quarterly thereafter. Prorated prices for partial year subscriptions are as follows:

Maresware Upgrades
Prices below apply to the following only: Maresware: Computer Forensics; Maresware: Data Analysis; Maresware: Linux Forensics; and Maresware: The Suite. Free for the first year: Upgrades are downloadable for free for one year from the software purchase date.(During the first year this also applies to individually purchased programs contained in the packages named above. After the first year there are no upgrades for individually purchased programs.) You must keep your registration dongle in order to initialize the downloaded upgrades. After the first year and for up to 36 months subsequent to your software purchase date: Prices for upgrades are prorated. We are attempting to perfect a software upgrade of the dongles. However, at this time, it is not yet perfected, and you may be asked to return your current license dongle for a new one. At which time we will send you a new registration dongle, which you use to initialize the downloaded upgrades. Prices for upgrades after the first year are prorated as follows, based on the age of your registration disk: If your softare is less than 24 months old, the upgrade price is $75.00.
Normally, the Maresware training alone is $1300.00, and software purchase at the time of training is discounted to an additional $300.00. Making a total purchase price of $1600.00. This cannot be purchased online. A phone call is necessary to provide Mares and Company with purchasing information. This package includes Maresware: The Suite plus a reservation in a Maresware Training Seminar (must be used within one year of purchase). Price: $1,600.(USD). ($1,450.00 for law enforcement) This option is only available to those who purchase this package more than 60 days in advance of attending a class. This cannot be purchased online. A phone call is necessary to provide Mares and Company with purchasing information. Requirements as a condition of purchase:
Training Shipping Charges Our standard shipping service within the continental U.S. is free for all our products. Additional shipping and handling charges apply for international shipping and for all methods other than our standard services explained below. Please call for those charges. Standard Shipping Methods: For Maresware: The Suite; Maresware: Computer Forensics; and Maresware: Data Analysis we normally ship by UPS. UPS will not deliver to P.O. boxes, so for those orders we ship by USPS regular mail. UPS also requires a local phone number. Any orders without local UPS compatable address or local phone number will be shipped regular mail For Individual programs and Maresware: Linux Forensics we ship via USPS, regular mail service. For Hash Set CD, File CD, and CRC CD we ship by USPS, regular mail service. For other delivery methods or expedited service, additional shipping/handling charges apply(please call). For APO military addresses, all shipping is free. International shipping. International shipping (except Canada) FOR ANY PURCHASE, requires additional shipping charges. Depending on the destination, the cost is either $25.00 or $50.00 U.S. See below:On shipments to Europe the additional cost is $25.00 U.S. On shipments to Asia, Japan, Far East and Hong Kong the additional cost is $50.00 U.S. You will find the selection for additional costs on the online order page, this option is on the 2nd line, directly below the Maresware:Data Analysis, and to the right of the Linux Suite option. If you do not include this for International orders, your order may be delayed.
E-Mailing Software We apologize for this harsh policy, but it is time consuming and frustrating to send e-mail to an address which you have assured us will allow the attachment through, only to find out it was stripped by a firewall that couldn't tell the difference between a zip file and a virus. If you are unsure how we should send attachments through a firewall, it is suggested you obtain a copy of free pgp. We will send the attachments as ascii encoded pgp files. This should get through almost any filter. (and if it fails, we won't charge for any additional resends).
Refund Policy No refunds can be given for software purchases. Mares and Company will gladly replace any defective software, CD's, diskettes or dongles within 60 days of purchase. You, the purchaser and user are assumed to have researched, tested, and found the software to fit your needs. Therefore, any use of the software by you is AT YOUR OWN RISK, and Mares and Company assumes no liability for any damage or loss of data as a result of the use of the software. The sample programs available for download from this website should provide sufficient operation and capability for users to determine ahead of time if a program suits their needs. We will be more than happy to assist you in making these determinations prior to purchase. It is the user's responsibilty to determine the capability of the software to suit their needs.
Payment Methods We accept checks and the following credit cards: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. Funds must be in U.S. dollars. Please send payment with order. For credit card payments, a valid phone number of the person whose name the credit card is in must be provided. Phone confirmation of the purchase request may be made. If you need to pay by purchase order, please call us to place your order. This is considered a non-prepaid order. On all non-prepaid orders temporary(60 day) software is shipped with a time-restricted use license. When full payment is received timely, a diskette is shipped enabling full use of the software. If payment is not received timely the license is revoked and the purchase can be reinstated with full prepayment.
